Sam Aulai, a powerliner with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 533, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Central Command 16.2, directs an F/A-18D prior to takeoff at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Oct. 15, 2016. VMFA(AW)-533 departed the CENTCOM area of responsibility, completing deployment as part of the Aviation Combat Element of SPMAGTF-CR-CC.  The squadron conducted strikes in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to eliminate the ISIL terrorist group and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, and the wider international community.
